ABOUT

Barbara was born in NJ and raised throughout much of her childhood in Taiwan. Returning to the US, she attended college and graduate school at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. This is where Barbara developed her love of family and marital therapy. After graduate school, Barbara became a Clinical Psychotherapist for East Center for Community Mental Health and the practice of Dr. Larry Hamme where she provided individual, family, marital and child therapy. During this time, Barbara had the opportunity to attend the Giarretto Institute in San Jose, CA to study trauma treatment and sexual behavioral problems. Since then, Barbara has led two separate, comprehensive trauma treatment programs. In 2004, Barbara decided to go back to school at the Center for Dispute Resolution where she became a certified mediator. She now incorporates high conflict, family and post divorce mediation, as well as parenting coordination in her practice today.

Barbara is now the founder/owner of the Better Life Behavioral Health Care, LLC. She offers individual, family and couples counseling. Specialized areas include trauma treatment, child play therapy, treatment for depression, anxiety and sexual behavioral problems utilizing a cognitive behavior approach. Family meditation and Parent Coordination Services also available.

Barbara currently lives in NJ with her husband and two children. She enjoys socializing with friends and family, skiing, cooking, reading, playing with her children and spending time at the beach.
